The above treeline club

Episode 6 is deep into the pipeline, just looking for that final touch to make it great.

The season has started wonderfully and with a high pressure system locked over the region, it was awesome to get up high. Usually at this time of year, the drought kicks in, but so does the wind, and the mountains take on more of a "look, but don't touch" attitude. There is always something special about getting above the trees and into terrain dictated by rock features.

Conditions here were "surprisingly" bad. Things were not looking good for the next couple of weeks.
A nice dusting of new snow improved conditions substantially. The "sleeper" storms would continue for a couple of days, consistently improving ski quality.

I was right this time.

It was great to tick off a line that I had been looking at for a couple of years now.

Skiing one of my favourite areas with Bill, logging some nice long descents.

Making approaches suck less.
Thin snow down low, but we were still able to get up high for one of my first successful bushwacking attempts. One of the first groups of skiers in there this season!

Starting to run out of ideas, so with a couple of days off, I decided to head west. Lots of cool stuff getting skied.
